How to Build a Resilient Portfolio in an Uncertain World
Book 2 of the trilogy The Conscious Investor by Alexander Antonov Alexandrov, CFA. Not another book that tells you what to buy: it helps you build a system for judging any investment – even when the future is uncertain. Written for readers in the United States.
Paperback and Kindle editions · published by Griffin Publishing, Sofia
What the book is about
It has never been easier to invest – and never been harder to know what to do. More information does not mean better decisions: what is really scarce is not information but good judgment.
Financial and Investment Intelligence brings together financial literacy, behavioural economics and a portfolio approach in one framework for making decisions under uncertainty. It does not offer a single strategy as a universal answer, and it does not promise guaranteed returns.
What you will learn
- To build an investment philosophy – what you believe as an investor and which principles your decisions will rest on.
- To understand risk – not only as market volatility, but as the chance of not reaching your financial goals.
- To build a portfolio – the role of each asset class and the links between return, risk, time horizon and liquidity.
- To evaluate investment ideas – to tell evidence from stories, and investing from speculation.
- To recognise market regimes – why no strategy works equally well in all conditions.
- To manage your own behaviour – fear, greed, overconfidence and the other psychological traps.
Who the book is for
- People who already invest but are not sure their portfolio follows a clear logic.
- Holders of stocks, ETFs, bonds, gold, real estate or crypto assets who want to understand the role of each investment.
- Savers who don’t want to make decisions driven by news, fear or market euphoria.
- Anyone who wants to manage risk, not just chase returns.
What you won’t find
- Promises of getting rich quickly.
- A list of the “best” stocks.
- A forecast of the next market peak or crash.
- One portfolio that supposedly suits everyone.
Its place in The Conscious Investor trilogy
- Book 1: Yoga for Your Money – awareness.
- Book 2: Financial and Investment Intelligence – competence.
- Book 3: The Intelligent Investor 2.0 – mastery (upcoming).
The book can be read on its own. The companion book BITCOIN: An Autopsy Without the Benefit of Death puts the system to its hardest possible test.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to read Yoga for Your Money first?
Not necessarily. The book can be read on its own, but Yoga for Your Money lays the personal-finance foundations it builds on.
Is it suitable for beginner investors?
It is most useful for people who already have savings or first investments and want a clear system for decisions. Complete beginners are better off starting with Yoga for Your Money.
Does the book recommend specific stocks or funds?
No. It teaches you to judge any investment yourself – through principles, evidence and risk management, not ready-made recommendations.
How is it different from other investing books?
It doesn’t tell you what to buy. Instead, it combines financial literacy, behavioural economics and a portfolio approach into a system for evaluating any investment yourself – even when the future is uncertain.
Is the English edition a translation of the Bulgarian book?
Not a straight one. It was adapted for US readers – the same ideas and system, with US examples, price levels and taxes.
Where can I buy the book?
On Amazon, as a paperback and a Kindle edition. The Bulgarian edition is available from the publisher at intelligence.convertbuilder.com.
